Description
Solar power in your pocket
The Power-Flex offers 6.4-Watt’s of solar charging power in a small compact design. This amount of power is perfect for charging most low current devices straight from the sun, for example: power banks, portable speakers, action cameras, and many other USB powered devices.
When charging a smartphone, we recommend using a power bank as an intermediary between the Power-Flex and the phone. If you do not have a power bank, check out our range of SunSaver power banks. Also, check out our bundle deals for some sweet savings!
Smart charging
An intelligent smart chip ensures a constant voltage for safely charging your device and the auto-restart function means the Power-Flex automatically restarts charging if it gets disrupted by a pesky cloud.
Weather resistant panels
Being laminated with a film coating makes the Power-Flex’s solar panels resistant to the elements to help extend their lifespan. And if the panels get dirty, simple wipe them clean with a wet cloth.
18-month warranty
All SunSaver products come with a standard 18-month warranty (applies to all SunSaver products purchased after the 1st of January 2021).

What can the SunSaver Power-Flex charge?
Most 5-Volt devices that charge with a USB cable. However, it all depends on how sunny it is and your devices Minimum Charging Current (MCC).
The MCC is the lowest current (measured in Amps) that your device will accept charge at. For example, a lot of smartphones and most tablets have a relatively high MCC, meaning that they need a very sunny day, or a larger solar panel to charge directly from the sun.
On the other hand, most power banks have a relatively low MCC, meaning that the Power-Flex can even charge them on an overcast day. Therefore, to improve solar charging effectiveness we recommend using a power bank as an intermediary between the Power-Flex and a smartphone.
SunSaver power banks have an extremely low MCC, so that the Power-Flex can charge them in very low light. Although in low light the charging rate will be very slow. However, a bit of power being stored is infinitely better than no power being stored!
How fast will the Power-Flex charge my device?
It all depends on how sunny it is and your devices Optimal Charging Current (OCC). Because of the relatively small size of the Power-Flex, it has a relatively low output current. To put this into context, the Power-Flex’s absolute maximum output current is equal to 1.28-Amps (this is not possible to achieve in the real world).
On average, the Power-Flex will provide anywhere between 0.3 to 0.8-Amp of current. This performance is dependent on many different factors, such as time of day and year, angle of the sun, and local geography.
For example, some smartphones have an OCC of over 2-Amps, meaning that the Power-Flex will charge them at a relatively low speed. Again, this is why we recommend using a power bank as an intermediary. The Power-Flex can easily charge up a power bank at a low current, and then the power bank (with a fast output) will charge your phone at the fastest possible rate. For instance, the SunSaver Classic power bank has a 2.4-Amp USB output.
Does the SunSaver Power-Flex store power?
No, the Power-Flex is a direct feed from the sun, and there is no internal battery to store any charge. We recommend using the Power-Flex in conjunction with a power bank to store up solar power to use any time.
Can I take the SunSaver Power-Flex on a plane?
Yes, because the Power-Flex does not have a battery, it is not subject to the same travel restrictions as power banks. This means that they can even be put in your checked-in luggage.
How long will the SunSaver Power-Flex last for?
A long time! Because the Power-Flex does not have a battery, it is not subject to the same performance loss as battery-based charging products are. However, solar charging performance will decrease over time with use, as is typical with solar panels.
As like most solar panel products, you can expect over a decade of use from the Power-Flex. The most important thing to be careful with is to not bend the Power-Flex the wrong way, as this can wear out the connections between the panels.
Can the SunSaver Power-Flex maintenance charge my vehicle battery?
No, the Power-Flex only has a 5-Volt USB output, so cannot provide charge at the required voltage. Please check out the SunSaver Super-Flex and SunSaver Ultra-Flex that feature higher voltage DC outputs capable of providing a 12-Volt charge.

Perfect bang-for-buck solar charger for keeping my battery pack charged.
It certainly speeds up the charging process for the power bank, and I find it doesn't have to be in direct sunlight either. I'm well pleased with it.
I am blown away with the assistance and generosity from your team you 10mA power back is just perfect for tramping and is apparently working well with the 6.4 watt solar charging unit. Thanx so much
